Circular on food safety conditions for food service and street food businesses

On December 05, 2012, the Ministry of Health issued Circular No. 30/2012/TT-BYTon food safety conditions for food service and street food businesses (“food businesses”). Accordingly, food businesses must comply with food safety conditions, some of which shall be as follows:

 

- Having sufficient facilities, materials, equipment, tools, and manpower;

 

- Processing capacity must be consistent with the design performance;

 

- Food materials, food additives, packed foodstuff must have invoices, receipts proving the origin as regulated and not expire; Food additives must be in the list of food additives permitted for use and issued by the Ministry of Health;

 

- Ensuring food safety during processing/preparing, display, and transportation (if any) as regulated;

 

- Preliminary processing of food materials, processing and cooking area, food preservation area, dining area, food materials warehouse, packed food preservation storage, hand-washing area and toilet must be designed in separate places as regulated.

 

This Circular shall be effective from January 20, 2013. Decision No. 41/2005/QD-BYT dated December 08, 2005 of the Minister of Health promulgating Regulation on food safety conditions for food trading, service, supply shall be repealed from the effective date of this Circular.
